I've joined the Shapely Tank Knit Along over at Rose-Kim Knits, which starts on March 22nd. I went to Elann to see if they had anything good to use to make it with, and they had Dale Kolibri, which is the yarn used in the pattern. I picked up 6 balls of Hunter Green to make it with.

I'm also going to try to (finally) finish the Tahki Ravello Shell. It just needs to be sewn up, and the neck and arms need to be finished. Since we've been having unseasonablly warm weather in San Francisco this last week (and it looks like it's going to last through this week at least), I'd like to finish it and wear it.

When knitted sweaters attack! Kind of like staring at a car wreck, this this site is difficult to stop looking at. Even now, I keep popping that page back up, because it's just too damn funny!

Yikes! Has it really been this long since I last posted? I have been busy, and actually haven't done much knitting in the last two weeks. I finished up the multidirectional scarf for Jonathan's mom, and gave that to her. And I started on another for my best friend, but have stalled on that in favor of reading a book. About two weeks ago I got this sudden urge to read something -- a pastime I sort of dropped after high school. While I was in college I rarely had enough time to read for pleasure, let alone for class. And after I graduated from college, I was so burnt out on reading that I took a break from it. But, my brain was itching for a book, so I had to scratch it. I picked up "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole. It's rather hilarious and entertaining.

In knitting news, I received my introductory kit from Rowan. I was expecting it to take longer, but it arrived in only a few weeks. I quickly browsed through the book, and have seen a few things I'd like to make. I also ordered some Valeria di Roma Arena, in dusty palm, to make this sweater out of. I need to do a swatch for this pattern so I can get the stitch down. The instructions are slightly confusing, but once I've tried it it should be easier.
