Remember me? Obviously, it's been awhile. Tax season is drawing to a close and I'm ready for it to end. That's not to say I'm not enjoying it, because I most definitely am. I'm just tired, and ready to have my free time back. My apartment is in need of a good cleaning. I need some decent rest (no more getting up at 7 on Sunday mornings!). I must start going to the gym again. And my poor, neglected knitting needles could use some love.

That's right. I committed the knitter's sin of neglecting my needles. Shame, shame on me. As soon as April 15th comes, I plan on entering Knitter's Rehab by trying to finish up some of these projects that are languishing in my apartment. I've got one more napkin holder to finish for Jonathan's mom. A scarf to finish for my best friend. The Shapely Tank Top (which is now half finished) that I have been "sort of" working on. My Booga Bag that still needs i-cord straps, and needs to be felted. Plus a variety of other things that still need work/finishing. Add to that all of the projects I have yarn for that I've been wanting to do, and I should be set for awhile.

Jonathan and I went to Reno last weekend with a few friends. I came home down about $40. Not too bad, but I'm a big baby when it comes to losing, so I'm not very happy about it. I was being creamed by the slot machines (everyone else was cashing in on them, except me), and was down about $30. Then Jonathan wanted to go play Blackjack, and I went with him. I put in a $20, and on my very frist hand (ever) I got a Blackjack. We left the table about 15 minutes later. He was up about $40, I won about $32 causing me to break even. Then, yesterday morning, before we left, our friend Mark insisted on going back to the casino to try a little more. We went back, hit the Blackjack table again, and each lost about $40. Mark was the biggest loser of the weekend, ending up about $200 down. Jonathan evened out. I shouldn't have played again yesterday morning.

Regardless, it was fun. If you're in Reno, and looking for a nice buffet, try the one at the Atlantis. We went Saturday night, when it was steak and seafood. The food was very good, fresh, and plentiful. The buffet was a little pricey ($23/person), but it was worth it. Plus, the casino in the Atlantis isn't too bad, in terms of smoke. Both Jonathan and I can't stand cigarette/cigar smoke. If you had someone near you puffing away, you'd notice it. But for the most part the air was breathable.

Also, in case you didn't notice, the new Knitty is out. I'm still reading the articles, and haven't checked out the patterns yet (I like to save the best for last), so I'll report back on that later. In the meantime, here's my Knitter's Geek Code. Enjoy!
