It has been too long since I last gave any love to this blog. Two years, to be exact. Sadly, much of that time has been marked by family tragedy, as opposed to knitting progress. In an effort to get back on my feet, emotionally and mentally, I've decided to respark my knitting fire.

If any of you are familiar with the old Purl Girl, you'll notice the look of my site has changed. I scrapped the old pink and gray template for this fresh new one. I'll be making more changes as time wears on. Hopefully this will include a revamping of my free pattern links website that hasn't been touched in nearly two years, as well. So, stay tuned!

I've recently started knitting more, since finding out that my middle brother and his girlfriend are expecting a baby (a little girl to be exact!) This will be my first time being an Aunty, so I'm super excited. I've already mostly completed a baby blanket and a teddy bear (pictures to come soon). And I may start on a 5 Hour Baby Sweater this weekend.

As a final note, I clicked around to see which of my old favorites are still out there. Happily, many are still blogging away, and I look forward to seeing what they are all up to. Of course, some have since gone the way of the dinosaur, and I hope they all continue to find joy in their knitting and lives. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and favorites, so feel free to shoot me an email about your blog, if you'd like me to check it out!

I'm glad you're back! I'm so sorry about your family tragitys though. Sickness and death is never fun, belive me I know.
Anyway, knitting is good thearapy. Keep up the good work. I've missed your blog.

Welcome back! I was checking out your old "free pattern" links and noticed you were back. I hope life evens out and that your knitting brings you some peace and comfort.
